I have stumbled across an interesting Firefox extension called Morning Coffee. Pretty much what it does is take sites that you visit regularly (maybe religiously?) such as webcomics, weekly journals, etc and organizes them by day (you have to do that yourself). So when you click on the little coffee cup up by the address bar, it will open a series of tabs of sites that you have set up for that day. I really like the idea of this extension and plan on using the hell out of it. So, this is what I need from you guys: sites that you guys visit very regularly so I can determine if I want to visit them too. I have several webcomics and regular comics setup in Morning Coffee already, but I would like more. So. Gimme.

If you are not receiving your password in your email when you register with my site, please post here that you haven’t received it. Don’t tell me what you want it to be, just tell me you haven’t gotten it. I’ll take care of it, but right now, I just want to know if the passwords are being emailed out.
All you Nintendo fans, GameStop/EBgames is finally going to provide info on their Wii bundle:
I was having some problems trying to get the Rolling Archives to work properly and have been spending the last several hours attempting to fix it. Then, I found out that it was only my computer that was having the problem. I should have figured this out because the AJAX (it’s basically super advanced Javascript) would work in IE7 but not Firefox. This made me really sad since I really don’t want to go back to IE after all the extensions and time I’ve put into customizing my computer’s Firefox. Then, I found out that if I use the Web Developer extension and Disable Cache, the AJAX works just peachy.
So, here’s the breakdown. That searchbar up there, you just type in what you want to search for and it will search on it’s own. Go ahead, type in something, but don’t press enter. See? Cool, isn’t it?
How do you know AJAX isn’t working on your computer? Well, see that RollingArchive bar up there? Well, if it just keeps saying ‘Loading’ and doesn’t allow you to scroll back and forth. It isn’t working. Chances are you are probably using IE6 or FF. If you are using IE6, upgrade to IE7. Don’t worry, your bookmarks and homepage won’t change. If you are using Firefox and have the Web Developer extension, click Disable >> Disable Cache so it is enable. If you are using Firefox and don’t have the Web Developer extension and things aren’t working, make sure you don’t have Javascript disabled. If that still doesn’t work, try getting the Web Developer extension and disabling the cache. Though, without the Web Dev extension, Firefox should work just fine. I have a little more work to do and I SHOULD be damn near finished.
So, I was browsing the Secretary of State’s website, reading the ballot initiatives and I am totally all for the passage of Constitutional Amendment No. 3. Remember, I don’t vote because I don’t believe in propping up a failing system. It’s my own right and I choose to employ it. I view voting as a privilege as you can actually have your ability to vote taken away. If you can have something taken away from you, then the expression, “It’s a privilege, not a right” applies to voting as well. Anyway.
So, I read the actual ballot issue on the tobacco tax and I don’t understand why you wouldn’t vote for it. Read this excerpt from the amendment:
4. Beginning January 1, 2007, the state treasurer without legislative action shall credit to and place in the Healthy Future Trust Fund all moneys collected as a result of the tax imposed by this section as said moneys are received. All of the moneys from the tax imposed by this section shall be kept separate from the general revenue fund as well as any other funds or accounts in the state treasury and shall be credited to and placed only in the Healthy Future Trust Fund and the accounts created within the Healthy Future Trust Fund. Any moneys credited to and placed in the Healthy Future Trust Fund and any account created by this section shall be appropriated and used only for a purpose or an initiative which is authorized by this section and shall not be subject to the provisions of section 33.080, RSMo. The unexpended balances of such moneys shall remain in the Healthy Future Trust Fund and in the particular account in which the moneys are placed, and such balances shall not revert to the general revenue fund. All interest which accrues upon the moneys in any account within the Healthy Future Trust Fund shall be added to such account and shall not be credited to the general revenue fund. Except as otherwise provided in this section, generally applicable laws concerning use of public funds shall apply to the Healthy Future Trust Fund.
The money from this tax can NOT be used towards the general revenue fund. And for you out there that say the collecting the tax will cost more than the actual tax will bring in:
5. (1) The actual costs of collecting the tax imposed by this section shall be paid from the moneys in the Healthy Future Trust Fund as may be provided by law, not to exceed two percent of the total moneys collected.
So, I don’t really care how you vote, but I would really like to know your reasons for not voting for this tax. I’m really of the opinion that whether you vote or not, you should be educated about who or what is taking control of your state… or country.
Though, really Lexy’s the only one who reads this because all my other friends either don’t care or just glance over their LJ Friends page. Oh well, someone’s better than no one.

Your Result: The Midland
“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |
