I set up my very first Samba server on a Linux machine. I did this with no prior training and I knew nothing about what I was doing and it works. I can save a file to the Linux machine from one Windows machine on the network and access it from a different Windows machine on my network. It may not sound like a big deal to you guys, but I’ve been trying to do this Linux file server thing for a while now and I finally did it. Now I just need to get the Linux box to boot up to itself so I can add actual identities for the folders. That’s the thing about Linux I’ve found out… it takes a fucking lifetime to boot up. I know there are fixes and shit for it out there, but I don’t use Linux as my main computer so I really don’t give that much of a shit. Well, I should probably go to bed now, so I will mess with it later. Hopefully, it will have booted up by then. If it doesn’t… then I don’t have a fucking clue as to what I’m gonna do.
