This weekend was pretty good. Friday was fairly uneventful, but still fun. I got into Jeff City with John around 9pm and hit the Steak n’ Shake. I was meeting an old friend, Dalenna, there and we sat around and had a nice couple hour chat. It didn’t seem like it’d been two years since we’d last seen each other, but as I thought about it, it seemed right. Nothing really all that great to speak of, there were some serious conversations and some not-so serious conversations. It was fun. Oh, and if Alice reads this, Dalenna says hello. After Steak n’ Shake, I left there feeling somewhat of less of a friend with Dalenna than when I arrived. Oh well, sometimes friendships fade and you can’t do anything about it. John and I then hung out at his dad’s house for a while before sleeping. The next morning, Saturday, I hung out with John, Nate, their dad, and some guy named Thomas as they played a round of golf. I drove John’s golf cart, but didn’t play. Since there were no left-handed clubs available, it’s kinda pointless for me to attempt a round of golf. So I spent the next six hours ( a REALLY long game of golf) sitting in a golf cart. It was more fun than it sounds, I swear. Golf carts are fun. After golf, John and I hung out at his dad’s house and watched some TV. We then went to La Bamba at 7pm and got a table immediately. It was kinda crazy. We then tried to go play some snooker at Mike’s Corner Pocket, but there is no snooker table in Jeff City anymore. Mike’s remodeled and got rid of their snooker table and Spectator’s got rid of their a long time ago apparently and now has a dress code I hear. So, we had to go to Columbia for a snooker table… so that’s what we did. We hung out, got Steve, and headed to Columbia. The first place we went to, Booche’s, was really cool. It reminded me of an English pub that had snooker tables. They closed at 11pm, but it was worth the experience. We then wondered around everywhere trying to find Willie’s Pub and Pool until we actually found it. There we discovered it did not feel like a pub and did have an American size snooker table, while Booche’s had a proper European size. It was still fun to play as much snooker as we did and John and I decided we were gonna try to find a snooker table in Warrensburg so we can practice. After the snooker, we went back to JC and hung out at SnS for a while until Steve went home and John and I went to his place to sleep. Sunday we woke up, got ahold of Steve, and went shooting at a range in Russelville. It was pretty crowded so we shot on the 100yd range. I actually shot the best with 8 of 35 shots actually hitting a 8.5″x11″ piece of paper from my Mauser Karabiner 98k. John’s dad hit thrice with his Italian Carcano, John hit his once with his Garand, and Steve a nil with his M44 Mosin Nagant carbine. I was pretty pleased even though we all missed a lot. We then hung out at John’s dad’s house for a while just chillin’. Eventually Adam came over and he hung out with us until he had to leave. Steve left fairly shortly thereafter and John and I left for Warrensburg after watching a neat show about secret German WWII weapons. John and I have some pretty interesting conversations on the drive between Warrensburg and Jeff City. I really like things like that. Well, that was my weekend. I thought it was fun.
