Germany Wins!!

I took a look at the total medal count today and Germany is up to 11 gold medals.  Now this medal count is from Torino directly, so by the time I checked it all of the events are done for today.  Apolo Anton Ohno, the only American I root for, did win gold in the Men’s 500m Short Track.  I am happy for him.  Bode Miller, the Alpine American favorite, stradled a gate on his first run in the Men’s Slalom.  Austria swept that event.  So right now, Austria and the US are tied with 9 gold medals.  Germany will go away from this Winter Olympics with more gold medals than anyone else.  The only two events remaining are Men’s 50km Cross Country and the Men’s Hockey Gold Medal game.  Germany has three athletes in the top 10 of the Cross Country so that is looking good.  The hockey game is between Finland and Sweden.  So, since America has NEVER medaled in a Cross Country event, it’s looking like Germany may beat the US by at least two gold medals and four total medals.  It is possible that Germany will take more, but I’m not keeping my hopes up too high.  The two events Germany golded in today were Men’s 15km Mass Start Biathlon and Four-Man Bobsleigh.  They also took Silver and Bronze in the Women’s 12.5km Mass Start Biathlon and Silver in the Women’s 5000m Speed Skate.  I will actually watch that footage tonight, but that’s about all I’d tell you guys anyway.  Well, I need to get off here and go to Olive Garden, so I’ll tell you guys the final and total medal count tomorrow.  Cya.
